 Cahone Springs Ranch, located in SW Colorado between Dove Creek and Cortez, has been a working and training opportunity since 2011 and has come a long ways from its humble state of being two old homesteads. We're putting out this word to let others know that we might have an opportunity for YOU to be involved as we feel the development stage is far enough along to include others..

Our long term plan is to utilize this 80 acre parcel for ministry as a retreat, training center and as a hands on learning and demonstration property. It's an exceptional piece of property with water rights while bordering the Canyon of the Aincients National Monument and BLM.

 The intent is to have a vocational training facility that incorporates the following aspects and more;

1. Sustainable and Organic Agriculture, including crops and trees. 2) Alternative Energy and off the grid living. 3) Re-purposed materials and building concepts. 4) Animal husbandry including bees and livestock. 5) Equipment operating training and repair etc.
2. We are glad to announce that we have secured  our water rights (over 22 years of effort) and are ready to maximize their effectiveness. (It's a huge hurdle to get water in Colorado and in the South West.) We have some nice springs on the property as well as a year round creek. These sources fill irrigation ponds, ditches and large storage tanks that are filled off of solar panels and pumps.
3. The garden crop area is a 1  1/3 acre field, fenced 7' tall with drip irrigation for the rows and big gun irrigation and a traveler sprinkler for the grain crops. We are in the process of creating another innovative system for nut and fruit tree production. We are ready to start seeding our farmland for the second time. It is our desire this year to have it up and running.

We are looking for individuals that want to learn and individuals who want to teach, that are willing to work hard towards the good things that matter. Are you a good leader that has something to offer that can pass on the concept of a work ethic, morals and ability to work with your hands that are rare, but needed in our society?
